Question

the space and Earth cones that roll without slipping to illustrate wobble and mutation. An end view of these two cones is two circular paths that can lie represented by a pair of cylinders. If a cylinder of radius a rolls at a constant speed without slipping inside a hollow cylinder of radius b > a, show that one complete trip around the inside of the larger cylinder takes revolutions of the smaller cylinder. Once a wobble frequency in the Earth frame is found, how is the frequency relative to the space frame of reference found? Show how (a) and (b) are used to find the amplitude of a mutation in space after a wobble frequency and amplitude have been measured in the Earth frame of reference.
