Diagnosis of Prolactinoma-
Determine the prolactin level through a blood test is considered as the diagnosis of prolactinoma. Other possible causes of prolactinoma except the prolactin include pregnancy,
stress, low thyroid function, kidney failure and liver failure. The prolactin level determine the size of the tumor because large tumors have high levels of prolactin. If a prolactinoma is determined on the basis of clinical symptoms, then the test should be repeated using a diluted sample of blood called "Hook Effect".
