The faster train's "black box" shows that it began negatively accelerating at 1.9 when it was 50 from the slower train, while the slower train continued at constant speed.

I got that the relative speed of the collision was 47km/h but my teacher said I did it wrong that i should have used the equation: change of x= Vinitial + 1/2at^2 where change of x equals distance + 50 and that i will end up using the quadratic equation and thats all he gave me to work with and im totally lost.
