I've tried this problem several times and got for a.. .982 and b .. 3.61 Can anyone help me figure out why these are incorrect?

A Ferris wheel with a radius of 5.00 m, the bottom of which is 1.75 m above the ground. The wheel completes one revolution every 36.0 s.

(a) What is the average speed of a rider on this Ferris wheel?
Answer in m/s

(b) If a rider accidentally drops a stuffed animal at the top of the wheel, where does it land relative to the base of the ride? (Neglect air resistance.)
Answer in m

Explanation / Answer

a)Use the following equation to find the the average speed:
V = 2r/T
where r = 5 m and T = 36 s
V = 25/36 = 31.42 m/s

b) calculate the height:

H =2r+1.75 m, where r = 5 m
H = 2*5+1.75 = 11.17 m
Then substitute that into the following equation:

X = ((2HV^2)/g)^1/2

X = ((2*11.17*31.42^2)/9.8)^1/2

X = 47.44 m
