The blood vessels transport blood from heart to arteries ,capillaries and veins. Then, blood returns to heart to complete the circuit.
Third gas exchange occurs in the capillaries where oxygen is dropped off for the cells and co2 wastes are picked up.
Finally the heart and blood vessels regulate blood flow according to the needs of the body.

Cardiovascular systems main function is to deliver nutrients and oxygen to all cells in the body.and bring back the waste materials to heart again for purification.Thus completeing a circuit. Blood vascular system, consists of the heart and the blood vessels running through the entire body. The arteries carry Oxygenated-blood away from the heart; and veins carry de-oxygenetaed blood back to the heart. Heart acts as a pumping organ for the whole process, contraction of muscles of heart generates the blood pressure.
