Explanation / Answer

a.

Yes, in bearded dragons sex reversal takes place when the temperature is 32 degrees and above. In these dragons the sex chromosome for male is ZZ and female is ZW . During higher temperatures at incubation the male ones gets driven into female but their genetic comnposition still be ZZ. Their male characteristics disappear and they even lay eggs.

Experiment - The eggs of the bearded dragons are placed in incubator and the temperature is maintained below 32 degrees. The eggs should be kept in position as they were initially found. The region found at the top should be placed in the incubator at the top side only.

Control - The eggs are incubated below 32 degrees and it is used as control.

b.

Yes, infant colic is related to microbial community. Lower amounts of clostridium species and higher amounts of Bifidiobacterial sp. have reduced colic symptoms. Lactobacilus is also low in colic infants.

Experiment - Fecal microbiota in infants with colic who are below 100 days are collected . It is screened for lactobacili and bifidobacteria sp. 10 test samples are taken.

Control - Exactly 10 control samples are taken from infants of equal weight and age.

c.

Yes , females prefer caring mate compared to non -caring mate. Males that care have eggs are preferred compared to males without eggs.

Experiment - Males with eggs and without eggs are allowed to mate with females. Selection of egg caring males proves that they are preffered compared to males that donot carry eggs.
