Question

Anna goes to the doctor for a full check-up. The doctor does a hormone screen on Anna just to be sure everything is in balance. The doctor notices that Anna has high levels of parathyroid hormone (which increases the levels of Ca2+ in Anna’s blood). To fix this problem the doctor prescribes _1_ to Anna, a hormone that is _2_ to parathyroid hormone. This hormone will have an opposite effect brining Anna’s blood Ca2+ levels _3_ and therefore back to normal. The doctor tells Anna to make a follow-up appointment so that they can figure out why she had _4_ secretion of parathyroid hormone in the first place. The doctor also states that this imbalance has affect protein synthesis in Anna and recommends she takes _5_ to increase growth of the proteins and _6_ to increase her metabolic rate in cells to speed up the repair.
