1. Time to assemble product

It will be measured in seconds (s). We can use timer to calculate the time and the least count of the timer should be least to get more accurate results.


2. Customization capability

We can understand customization capability as the capability of the product by which it can be customized without interferring with its purpose for which it is made. For ex, we can customize our table lamp with paints and decoration but we cant change something related to its wiring and its bulb.

3. Unit's manufacturing cost

Unit manufacturing cost can be measured in dollars ($). It includes all the cost required for raw materials, processing cost, equipments cost, electricity cost, labour cost or any other costs involved divided by the total no. of units. For example if it costs $100 to produce 10 units then unit's manufacturing cost would be 100/10 = $10

4. Safe to customer touch

For making a product safe to human touch we have to take care of the material from it is made, surface roughness and we also have to care of sharp edges or corners. Edges and corners should be champhered appropriately. Before making actual product we can prepare a solid model of it in any modelling softwares like solidworks, autocad, catia etc.

5. Easy to use

The product should be very user friendly. All complex calculations should be done before and should be coded to the product so that users can have simple access to all its functions without any problem. Simple buttons can be included for functions which are used repeatedly.

6. Width of product

Width can be measure in metres (m). It is important part of the product as it determines how much space the product needs to get fit in. It also determines the product's volume, so try to fit all components compactly so that width remain small. Small products are more user friendly.

7.Weight

Weight can be measured in kilograms (kg). It is also important aspect of the product. Some products need to be lighter in order to be more portable, some needs weight to get stability. According to the requirement of the product the weight should be decided. For decreasing weight there are many many types of different materials that we can use instead of metals which make the product heavy and not so mobile.

8. Easy to move

It is the aspect that all customers see in the product before buying it. As we discussed earlier the the product should be portable as much as possible which makes it user friendly. This was the idea behind mobile phones. Landlines were not portable so we created mobile phones.

9. Has breaking system

In development of any product, security cannot be comprimised. It should be the first factor to look at. Every product should has a breaking system which allows it to prevent any big harm at time of unexpected event. It also protects the product from damaging. For example refrigerators come with inbuilt stabilizers or fuse switches comes with a safety limit. If current rises unexpectedly then it automatically breaks off to protect other aplliances from damaging.

10. Protective casing

As we discussed earlier safety should come first in designing a product. Safety casing should be present to protect the customers in case of unexpexted events. For example if our product uses electricity then we can provide some plastic covering which will protect its user in any unexpected event.
