Question
Complete the problem with work so that I may follow along and learn. Thank you! A suspension of cells, extracellular matrix and saline is placed between two circular disks each of radius R = 1.5 cm that are spaced at a distance of d = 0.1 cm apart, as shown. Oxygen is consumed by this cell-matrix mixture at a rate of e= 7*10^-9 g/mlxs. Oxygen diffuses through the cell-matrix mixture with the coefficient of diffusion of D = 2*10^-5 cm2/s. Assume steady-state conditions. 1. Let the cell matrix mixture occupies the region rExplanation / Answer
Solution:- Given Oxyen consumpted by cell matrix at a rate of e = 7 x 10^-9 g/mlxs
Diffusion coefficient D = 2 x 10^5 cm2/s
r< b and b = 0.5 cm
Given = 8.4 x 10^6 g/ml
No adequate amount of oxygen will not be supplied because 7 x 10^-9/8.4 x 10^6 = 0.000000.. which is very very less. so there is no further coefficient of diffusion coefficient.So this point of calculated value = 0.
