Question
7-a) A bacterium moves with a speed of 1.1 um/s across a Petri dish with radius r= 9.7cm. How long does it take the bacterium to traverse the Petri dish along its diameter? (In hours)b) Sitting beside a friend on a park bench, you grab her hat and start running in a straight line away from her. Over the first 12.0m, you accelerate at 1.80m/s^2 up to your maximum running speed. You then continue at your maximum running speed for 20.0s more before your friend catches you. How far (in m) from the bench did you get before being caught? How long (in s) did it take for your friend to catch you?
Please explain clearly thank you! 7-a) A bacterium moves with a speed of 1.1 um/s across a Petri dish with radius r= 9.7cm. How long does it take the bacterium to traverse the Petri dish along its diameter? (In hours)

Explanation / Answer
Diameter =2× radius.
So diameter of petri dish = 19.4cm.
Speed of bacterium = 1.1×10-6m/s
Time = Distance/speed.
T = 0.194m/1.1×10-6
T= 2.134×105seconds. = 213400/3600 hours = 59.28 hours.
