A cotton ball and a glass marble are each launched horizontally from the edge of a table. They are launched with the same initial speed, and fall to the floor. The marble's mass is about 100 times the mass of the cotton ball. The cotton balls diameter is about 2 times that of the marble. The height of the table is 1 meter above the floor. Predict where each object would hit the floor. You must clearly explain any assumptions you made.

h = gt2/2 , t = sqrt(2gh)

as both are launched from the same height he both reach the floor at the same time and

horizontal distance traveled x = ut = u*sqrt(2gh)

both land and the same horizontal distance.

It is independent of the mass or the size.

Here we have ingored the air drag force

if we have to consider the air drag force then the drag on the cotton ball is higher beacuase its size is larger and it the drag force is opposite to its motion and it will land shorter than the marble.
