Question

please brifley explain what this is about

Cable counts (ct) refer to the number of individual fiber strands inside the cable If you change cable count, you must place a |1| multiplexer as the cables need an enclosure in which to be joined eg. 1 ct to 12ct needs a |1| between You can join as many cables with different counts as you like, not all fibers need to be in-use A multiplexer only requires 1 input, and produces the indicated number of outputs eg. A |16| multiplexer only requires 1 fiber input, but can output to 16 different units You can nest multiplexers eg. a |2| can connect to a |16| before reaching the tenant

Explanation / Answer

It is about how multiplexers are used in cables. In cable there are lot of fibre strands. But we can minimize those strands using multiplexers. A multiplexer can take n inputs and gives out 2^n outputs. Hence instead of using thirty two cable strands , we can use 5 cable strands and a multiplexer to get 32outputs. So it reduces the hardware cost, clumsy strands.
