Question
The output voltage of a 14V DC power supply ( not an HP 3631A) is found to fluctuate about the nominal output voltage (14V). The peak-to-peak magnitude of the fluctuation( or ripple) is expected to be about 240mV and its frequency should be 60Hz. Give the scope setting to display this 60Hz flucutation. The vertical size of the displayed waveform should cover at least half the screen and there should be two to five full waveform cycles on the screen. Give standard settings (1,2,5,10..or 1,2,4,10..).
Sweep rate:_____________________ (must include unit)
Vertical gain ( or sesitivity):_____________________ (must include unit)
Trigger level:_____________________ (must include unit)
Vertical-channel coupling:_____________________ (must include unit)
Explanation / Answer
sweep rate: 5ms/div
vertical gain : 50mv/div
trigger level: put the trigger level in DC and
we need to change y position also to see the wave form
vertical channel coupling: we use either channel 1 or channel 2 if we use channel -1 we need to give channel-1
