Batch reactor is a process where two or more chemicals are reacted in the presence of the heat to get the desired product.In this process temparture has to be maintained at a certain level for reaction to take place so proper temparature control mechanism has to be provided.
With reference to the process in the question:
FC, TC, LC, PC are flow, temparature, level, pressure controllers and (FT, TT, LT, PT areflow, temparature, level, pressure Transmitters which sense the change in respective parameters and send the data to respective controllers for control action. Anti-Foam acts as cooling agent.
The Chemicals which are to be mixed are fed into the reactor with the help of feed channels A and B.They are reacted at certain tempearture and also certain heat is created due to chemical reactions. This increase in heat leads to rise in temparture which is sensed by Temperature Transmitters and also increase in Pressure is sensed by pressure transmitters as pressure and temperature are directly proportional to each other. Once rise in temparture is detected the anti foaming agent is added to the reactor to control the temperature inside the reactor. Its a kind of automatic control with the help of transmitters and controllers.
Finally the product is collectd using Discharge line . Here controllers are provided with control valves to control the flow. This is a brief overview of the diagram provided.
