Question
Connect the circuit shown is Figure 1. Adjust your function generator to give a sinusoidal waveform of a peak voltage of 800 mVp and 1 kHz frequency. Calculate the voltage gain for the amplifier, A = R_f/R_113 ??? Determine if the above configuration is for an inverting or a non-inverting amplifier. Increase the supply voltage and observe the effect on the output voltage, explain in your report. Increase the operating frequency and observe the effect on the output voltage, explain in your report.Explanation / Answer
3. As the configuration is inverting, voltage gain A = -Rf/R1. Now, Rf = 120k and R1=10k. This gives A = 12.
4. The given configuration is for an inverting amplifier.
5. The output voltage will increase with the same factor because for the given configuration, A(Voltage gain) is constant and A = V0/Vi . When Vi is made k times, V0 also becomes k time of the earlier V0. So the output voltage increases with an increase in supply voltage.
6. The output voltage is independent of the operating frequency. Although, the output frequency is same as the input frequency thus it increases with an increase in operating frequency.
