Question

For those studied MS or PhD degree in Electrical engineering

How do or did you study?

Do you have your own insights or knowhows on studying efficiently?

I graduated with Electrical engineering BS and planning to pursuing MS degree in the US

And after I got out from undergrad, I completely lost how I could start studying the subject..

I tried to solve lots of problems, took notes, watch youtubes.. but it seems this is not good enough for me..

I heard there are lots of students share the old exams and references for themselves

And I am afraid it would be hard to pass the classes

I also heard there some people use third party to do the projects and etc..

Please gvie me some real tips and guidances if you have studied MS of PhD in EE

I want to know more and further develop my knowledge in EE or related field of studying.. but I can't seem get the real grasp

Please explain how you study in general for the classes or subjects in EE in the US for MS PhD

Do you first solve the problems? and read the chapters, then try watch you tubes if you don't understand it?

Discuss your coleagues about how you could knock down the exams?

What are your steps or methods of studying? What tools (Chegg, old references, etc) have you used?

What made you achieved MS and PhD?

PLEASE GIVE ME THE REAL TIPS AND ADVICE, NOT LIKE SOME GENERAL TALKS OR PHILOSOPHIC STATEMENTS ETC..

I WANT REAL ADVICE

Explanation / Answer

hi there,

Just as you said u want to pursue MS in US first and foremost thing you need to study is English, analytic and critical reasoning to land in US. As i beleive none of us will study mimimun basics during our undergraduate courses because we will be busy with nothing and we are only intrested in marks. All those things will change once we are in final year or we come out from college. I would like to share my experiences which led to my PG .

Firstly make habit of reading anything for few hours . initially we feel sleepy while reading but we must get over it . Then slowly start reading the subject standard books for example if you want to know all the basics of Integrated circuits go for millman Halkis book and not other ordinary book this is an important step for getting competency and understanding basic principals of analog electronics. Then try to solve the questions given in the end of every chapter of the book. still if you dont understand some topics then its time to switch on your computer and search for it .

Normally half of the people will see the length of the questions and they think those are difficult but actually 90% of those type of questions are easy we have to look for a catch where the answers will be a simple logic and we must read the questions carefully . if we understand the question carefully treat it as it is half done

After this move on to solve the previous questions and take maximum number of online tests . The online tests gives you confidance and now you come to know where you are in the competetion based on the results and you would try to improve automatically

Finally MS means a specialized dicipline course .choose your specialization carefully and try to improve upon that subject with fair amount of knowledge in other subjects . what i mean is that if you are in a control system engineering course you need to have a through knowledge in stablity analysis in continous domain, digital domain and state-space apart from this a firm grip in needed on digital and analog electronics . other subjects may be included in your curiculam but emphasis should be on controls as you will be dealing a project at the end of your course.
