Question

On a clapper circuit project :
1. Why is the op amp connected to the output of the microphone?
2. Why is the op amp signal fed into a timer circuit? What is the purpose of this configuration?
3. . Concerning the op amp, when V+ is greater than V- the output voltage will go high or low?
4. Concerning the op amp, when V- is greater than V+ the output voltage will go high or low?
5. What purpose does the flip-flop serve?
6. What is the purpose of the relay?
Please I need the answer related to the clapper circuit project. Thanks.

Explanation / Answer

1) Input impedance of Op-amp is very high and it is equal to infinity in case of ideal Op-amp. So when output of microphone fed to input of a Op-amp whole output voltage of microphone should be present at input of Op-amp since infinite impedance parallel to finite impedance is always finite impedance. Since the Op - amp have the high gain microphone output is highly amplified.

2) In case of positive feedback Op-amp output is always saturated values. So it produces square wave lies between –vs at and vs at. so that square wave has some Time period .so u can connect that square wave to timer so that timer can count frequency of wave.

5) Flip flop is a Bistable element used to store one bit information.

6) Purpose of relay is to control Electrical circuit.
