Detecting that three buttons are being pressed simultaneously (button output is '1' when pressed) c. Detecting the absence of light from a light sensor (sensor output is '1' when light is sensed) d. Showing whether a child can have ice cream or candy but not both (having ice cream or candy is shown as a '1')

a.) OR

because each sensor outputs one when there is motion,so to detect any sensor in motion,the output should be one with atleast one sensor in motion. since in OR operation, if one input is one, output is one.

b.) AND

because to detect simultaneous button presses, if all inputs are one, only then output is one. in AND operation,this satisfies .

c.)NOT

to detect the absence of light output is zero,because output is one for sensed light. so use NOT to convert to zero.

d.)XOR

if child had both candy and icecream, then there will be two ones,which is to be detected.so exclusive or(XOR) of two ones give zero output.
