My question is

Read chapter 6 of Digital Circuits Projects, and REALLY understand the truth tables and expressions that correctly describe the sum and carryOut functions for the half adder and full adder.

Simulate the 2 bit adder in your simulator (Remember that this should produce more than just a set of electronic files.

Stretch: simulate the 3 bit adder.

Do you have an unused output in either of these circuits? Where does it go? What does it mean (If anything)?

twelfth edition digital systems principles and applications NEAL S. WIDMER GREGORY L.MOSS RONALD J. TOCCI

Explanation / Answer

Both for 2 bit & 3 bit adder there is two output, sum and Carry out. I think in ur case carry would be unused output. because when I simulate then there is no missing output in any circuit. like when all three bits are 1 1 1 the sum will be 1 and carry out will be 1. there is no chance that any output is unused.

Hope you will understand
