I would like to suggest the intermittent motion mechanism or automobile steering mechanism, since they have very important real life application .an idea of these mechanisms is given, so that you can select anyone of these mechanisms .

1: Intermittent motion mechanism : intermittent motion is a sequence of motions and the dwells. A dwell is a time period in which output link remains stationary while the input link continues to move. So this mechanism are used to convert continuous motion into intermittent motion, the mechanisms used for this purpose are the Geneva wheel and ratchet mechanism. The major applications of Geneva wheel drive Is in mechanical project ,movie projector ,indexing tables in assembly line, tool changers for cnc machines and indexing tables in milling machines. Where Ratchet mechanism is widely used in ratchet wrenches and in Winches.

2:Automobile steering mechanism: The relative motion between the wheels of an automotive vehicle and road surface must be pure rolling because of that there is line contact which prevent uneven wear of the tyre. In order satisfy this condition when the automotive vehicle is moving along curved path ,the steering mechanism have to be designed such that the point of contact of each wheel and road surface are concentric arcs. In order to satisfy this condition ,the axis of wheel on the inside of curve must be turned through a larger angle than the axis of wheel on outside of curve .The most commonly used steering mechanism are davis steering mechanism and ackermann steering mechanism. Davis mechanism uses a sliding pair and ackermann uses turning pairs.
