Parking brake also well known as emergency brake. It commonly used to make the vehicle motionless after parking in a parking lot or parking floor when the place steep and havi g some slope. To stop transmission and the movement after parking will result stationary movement restrictions to the vehicle. But in practical the parking brake also used for stopping the vehicle in emergency conditions.but the breaking force is very less compared to the original braking system of cars.
The main intention of Parking brake is to stop the stationary motion when parked.. But the parking brake also used when the original brake system failed and we can use parking brake as emergency backup brake.
In most general use Technician B correct.
