Explanation / Answer
1) CO2 is produced in Kreb's cycle. For each cycle, 2 molecules of carbon dioxide are generated. One molecule is formed during the conversion of Isocitrate to Alpha ketoglutarate and the second molecule during the conversion of Alpha keto glutarate to Succinyl CoA.
2) NADH and FADH2 , produced from Kreb's cycle, enter into the electron transport system to produce energy in the form of ATP. It is also called pay off phase.
3) Kreb's cycle doesnot require oxygen directly. But it depends on the molecules produced from other biochemical pathways such as electron transport system, glycolysis which are definitely Oxygen dependent. And pyruvate oxidation, the name itself has "oxi" in its name. So it requires oxygen.
