Question
A little kiddie cart is sliding down the hill of some kind of metal track sort of like a ramp. At the top of the hill as it starts its downward trek its speed is 15 m/s. The hill has a nice wicked slope of 30 degrees. The hill is 25 meters above the ground so that is where we will start paying attention to the cart. The cart keeps going down the hill and at some unknown point two seconds into the descent, a decoration on the side of the cart breaks loose and falls to the ground in a parabolic arc. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the cart
Explanation / Answer
a)acceleration=g*sin 30=5 m/sec^2
g=10
B)after two seconds,distance travelled along the track=0.5*5*2*2=10m
height above gnd=(25-10)*sin 30=7.5 mtr
c)Velocity of the cart along the track at that instant=5*2=10m/sec
d)velocity of decoration =10 horizontal velocity=10*cos 30=8.66
horizontal distance travelled=8.66*0.6=5.196 mtr away from the point it got off
e)velocity with which it strikes the gnd=
