Question 1 of 20 Question 1 5 points Save Answer A constant-volume gas thermometer is used to measure the temperature of an object. When the thermometer is in contact with water at its triple point (273.16 K) the pressure in the thermometer is 8.500 104 Pa. When it is in contact with the object the pressure is 9.650 10 Pa. The temperature of the object is: O a. 37.0K O b. 241 K c. 310 K O d. 314 K O e. 2020 K A Moving to another question will save this response. Question 1 of 20

Explanation / Answer

We have gas law, PV/T = constant

Given that volume is constant, doesn't change.

So, P/T = constant

Theerfore, P1/T1 = P2/T2

we have P1= 8.5x10^4 Pa, T1= 273.16K , P2= 9.65x10^4 Pa

So, T2= (T1/P1)*P2 = (273.16 / 8.5x10^4 ) * 9.65x10^4 = 310.11K

So, option C is the CORRECT answer
