Question
Hello,
I know this may seem like an easier projectlile motion question, but I am rusty and the text does not have answer for this one. Question has four parts. Please show solutions and explain briefly where necessary.
Projectile is fired with launch angle of 60.0 degrees with a speed of 100.0 m/s at t = 0. (assume no air friction)
1) What are the initial x and y components of velocity?
2) HOw much time will it take the projectile to reach the peak of its projectory?
3) How much time until the projectile reaches the ground?
4) How far from the launch point does the projectile hit the ground?
Thanks in advance!
Explanation / Answer
1) 100*cos(60 degrees)=50 m/s=vox==>100*sin(60)=86.6 m/s=voy
2) 86.6/9.8=8.84 s
3) 8.84*2=17.674 s
4) range=vox*t=50*17.674=883.7 m
