Question
a 25 cm focal length is located at x=50cm. you want to project an image of an object on the screen.
1. what is the object distance in cm? i got s'=50cm
2. magnification i got -1. so inverted does that mean the image is the same size upside down?
3 on the diagram draw the ray diam for this situation. the object will be an arrow 3cm in height. indicate forccal points. draw special rays.
the image is a 100cm line but 10cm really equals 1.3cm with a ruler. the lense is an ellipse im guessing converging with the center at 50 cm. It starts at 0cm ends at 100 cm where the screen is
Explanation / Answer
1)
apply For convex lens: 1/v - 1/u = 1/f
[u is +ve but both v & f are -ve]
thrn you get u = 50cm= obect distance
so object must be placed at X=0

2) M =di/d0
= 1
