Explanation / Answer
a) object was stopped means velocity is zero only for an instance. as we can see v(t) curve cuts x-aixs at 7 sec
so at t = 7 sec . ..ANs
bt at t= 15 sec it was at rest for 2 seconds , not stopped only for an instance/
b) object was rest means where value of v was zero.
for t = 15 sec to t 1 = 17 sec v is zero .
os it was ar rest for 2 seconds at t= (15, 17 ) sec
c) average velocity is total displacement / time .
total dispalcemnt is area under the curve of v vs time. (upper area is +ve an below x -axis is -ve)
x = 15 x 4 + (7 -4) x 15/2 - (10-7) x 15 /2 = 60 + 22.5 - 22.5 = 60
v = 60/10 = + 6 m/s
d) average speed = total distance / time ( distance is always positive means all area is considered as +ve)
so d = 15 x 4 + (7 -4) x 15/2 + (10-7) x 15 /2 = 60 + 22.5 + 22.5 = 105
v = 105/10 = 10.5 m/s
e) for t = 0 to 4 sec x = 15t
den t = 4 to 7 x = 60 + 7.5(t -4)
den t = 7 to 10 x = 82.5 - 7.5(t-7)
f) acc. vs time
for t = 0 to 4 sec a =0
den t = 4 to 10 a = - 5m/s2
t = 10 to 12 a = 0
12 to 15 a = 5
15 to 17 a =0
17 to 20 a = 5
