Explanation / Answer
Ans 1) The blood type of each friend
Marie – The blood group is B Rh+ where the antigens are B and Rh antigens on the surface of RBC.
Katie – The blood group is A Rh+ where the antigens are A and Rh on the surface of the RBC.
Mark – The blood group is only A Rh- as it is the only antigen and no Rh antigen present.
Ans 2) Type of Antibody:
Ann – In this the antibodies present are B antibodies and Rh antibodies.
Marie – In this antibodies present are A antibodies.
Katie – In this the antibodies present are B antibodies
Mark – The antibodies are B antibodies and Rh antibodies.
Ans 3) Ann is A negative and hence she does not have Rhesus and have B negative as the antibodies. She can take blood only from A and O negative.
