Here in this experiment,we are dealing with newly discovered protein pathway.Proteins are synthesized from amino acids by the process called translation.We are using S35 labelled methionine amino acid which will become the part of Newly discovered protein at the time of translation.
We can not use P32 labelling because this can be done only with nucleotides(DNA and RNA) having phosphate groups.
Here we have to study the protein pathway so we need to labelled amino acids which will be the part of protein so any path followed by protein can be tracked with the help of this amino acid
