More than ten years ago, Stephen Pacala and Robert Socolow (2004. Science) proposed the concept of “stabilization wedges” as a tool for figuring out different combinations of strategies that could be used to prevent a doubling of atmospheric CO2 concentrations over pre-industrial levels. Each wedge is a climate mitigation strategy that could be scaled up to reduce C emissions by 25 billion tons over the next 50 years. The strategies fall into categories of “Efficiency and Conservation,” “Fossil fuel- based strategies,” “Nuclear energy,” and “Renewables and Biostorage.”

Explanation / Answer

Transport- this is a great need for every one but these transport vehicle produced high amount of pollution gases which will affect the climate after a time to overcome these problem we can make strategies which reduces the emission of vehicles.

Eco driving a way to drive vehicle of eco speed which results in less production of pollution.

Formation of new technical hybrid engine and smaller vehicle which will produce less emission. Use of public service vehicle like train and bus.

Benefit- These strategy will be help to control the harm in climate and control pollution.

Nuclear electricity- This is the way of producing electricity with the help of nuclear molecule which produce a high amount of energy. But it is very costly and can be cause mutation and cancer in living body if it get leak in environment.

Benefit- It required in very less amount, produce high energy, it doesnt produce smoke and do not pollute our environment.

3. Wind electricity-It is renewal source of energy help in fight against climate change by reducing the emmision of green house gase due to unequal distribution of wind from high pressure region to lower pressure.

Benefits- For this type there is smoke is not produce. Based on renewable energy, No pollution is increase.
