(a) What is the equivalent resistance between points A and B for this combination of resistors? The answer is 4.767 ohms and it was right
(b) A 16-V emf is connected to the terminals A and B. What is the current through the 1.0-? resistor connected directly to point A? The answer is 3.356 A and it was right

Itotal=3.356 A, Req=4.767 , Vsource=16 V, 3.356 A*1 =3.356 V

(16-3.356)=12.644 V for the circuit to the right of R1

4 in parallel with 15.5 =3.1795 in series with 3.3 =6.4795

12.644 V/6.4795 =1.9514 A, 3.3 *1.9514 A=6.44 V

12.644-6.44=6.204 V, 6.204 V/15.5 0.4 A or 400 mA for R15.5
