Question

If I have constant force that is applied to and object, causing it to accelerate at 10m/s^2, then what will the acceleration be if... a) The force is halved? b) The objects mass is halved? c) the force and the objects mass are both halved? d) The force is halved and the mass is doubled? I think I'm suppose to use proportional reasoning with this however the explanation in my physics book is poorly worded and hard to understand, so if you could explain how you would go about finding these that would be great

Explanation / Answer

a) a = 5

b) a = 20

c) a = 10

d) a = 2.5
