When there is a rearrangement of the normal order of genes in a chromosome is called the chromosomal inversion. These are of two types: pericentric inversion and paracentric inversion. Pericentric inversion involves the rearrangement of genes at both sides of the centromere whereas paracentric inversion does not involve centromere. In a paracentric inversion, a break occurs at the same arm only.

Here, both flies have different sets of genes, therefore, the chromosomes of the fly 1 and fly 2 are not related.

2. The correct answer is both (a) and (b) occur but not (c) and (d).
