James was told that they have a genetic disorder that runs in the family. James' fater is healthy: about mother he does not know - she died at her early 40th. Need more information

Explanation / Answer

The correct answer is Option C that is 50%. The inheritance pattern is X linked dominant. The father is healthy but all children are affected that means the mother was affected. Genotype of her mother is XCXC. The Genotypic Susan is XCX and she is affected too. Her husband is healthy and hence genotype is XY. So, from this the possible genotype of their child is XY, XX, XCX and XCY. So, probability is 2/4 that is 50%.

Hence option C is the correct answer.
