I would prefer Linux as the OS for the companies with higher number of individuals connecting to them. The individuals are having the most expectations from the companies and they want the services to be most awesome and easy to handle.

Hardware Support:
The hardware support of the Linux OS is a little tough to handle because linux is completely. It becomes a bit difficult to work with Linux because it used to be in CLI(Command Line Interface) but now as Linux is paving it's way towards the GUI(Graphical User Interface). The hardware support is growing better and better as the time comes and will also become more promising.
Communication:
The communication in Linux OS is the strongest I know and the processes are been handled with care. They are totally dependent on the user. The user is given more rights and can modify and literally can customize the whole OS as per his/her need.Hence, the communication part of the Linux OS is very helpful and greatly understandable.
Process and Threads:
The process in Linux can be visualized as running in the instance of a program. Processes and the threads in Linux work hand in hand and are the most working and fastly subtle things that Linux add to an advantage.Linux OS are one of the most promising and fast working OS which is only possible because of the great grooming of the processes and the threads in the Linux OS.
Network Supprt
Linux OS comes with good network support. The connectivity between the devices in the Linux OS is usually a key requirement in every Linux based OS. Linux provides support and the development of every networking aspect that the company will require like:
Multiprocessor Support:
Linux OS consists of great multiprocessing support. It is all because of the swift use of the threads used in the Linux OS.Linux OS is also known for its good multiprocessing power in the Operating Systems.

The compatibility of the Linux OS is also high and is compatible with many of the possible architectures like x86 and x64. Linux OS is highly compatible as you can see that it is not only in the remote desktops but also in mobiles and servers.
