As u know might be knowing that in an conventional design all the equipment can get an update or upgrade by adding an patch to an existing software that runs this systems . Patch here refers to an software that boosts or adds extra services to the existing one , technically we guys call them as an add on services. Now coming to this topic systems today the industry is mostly realigning on machine learning where the system is shown the activities and it has to adapt or mimic the same things, Now the difference you might observe is the system has capability to learn by itself where our conventional design lags in it . Now as you have asked about how design parameters improvement I can say that machine one got the capability to learn with zero error rate then it sustains in that environment for ever because it can adapt to variable conditions hence efficiency is relatively more in this design
