Question
3) Consider a stepper motor with a 1.8 degrees stepping angle. Determine the number of step to turn the motor 2 revolutions with the half step motor driver, the full step motor driver, or the 10 times micro-stepping motor driver, respectively. # of steps in the half step mode = # of steps in the full step mode # of steps in the 10x microstepping step mode = 4) Suppose that you were given a unipolar stepper motor (2 phases and 6 motor leads) without a datasheet. To identify the configuration of motor windings, you picked two motor leads out of six, and used a DMM to measure the resistance across the two motor leads (Lead 1 and 2). You repeated the above processes and recorded enough measurements as tabulated below. Note that the motor leads are identified by colors: White, Yellow, Green, Black, Red, Blue. Lead 1 Yellow Yellow Yellow Red Red GreenYelloww Lead 2 Green Blue Black Blue White Black White Resistance l 7.8 | Infinity | 7.8 | 15.6 | 7.8 | 15.6 I Infinity Based on the above measurements, identify the center tab and the coil end leads of each winding and fill the below table (w/ the aforementioned wire colors). Also explain your logic. Stepping Angle of the stepper motor is 1.8°.
In Half Step Operation Stepping angle reduced to 1.8/2 = 0.9°.
So no of steps taken in 2 revolution is = (2*360)/0.9 = 800.
In Full Step Operation Stepping angle is: 1.8°.
So no of steps taken in full step mode = (2*360)/1.8 = 400.
In 10x Microstepping stepping angle is: 1.8°/10 = 0.18°.
So no of steps taken in 10x Microstepping Mode
= (2*360)/0.18 = 4000.
