Group 3 MWSG Network Consulting Congratulations!!! You have just been hired on as a Network Specialist by MWSG Network Consulting Sunnyhill Golf is planning to convert one of their larger outbuildings into a conference centre and MWSG Networking has been asked to quote on WLAN infrastructure, so you are currently visiting hit the first time. This conference centre is going to be quite large - it's 800 people! It is also able to be converted to four smaller rooms by moveable wall pa entrance area also which are over six feet tall. When the renovations are complete there will be a large kitchen and several office areas as well. High speed wireless is a must. a large, tall room capable of holding has several smaller rooms. The owner wants to use four antique glass chandeliers 1. Are you going to suggest a system using LAPs or autonomous APs? Why? 2. Their existing wired network uses VLANs. Will this pose a problem with LAPs being able to connect to the WLC? The owner wants to install two of the APs in the kitchen area so that chefs can have ready access to their recipes stored on the network using their laptop computers. He thinks that these APs are close enough to provide excellent coverage to the offices. Should this plan concern you? Why or why not? 3. The electrical contractor is in charge of installing all cabling. She is quite concerned because the building drawings show no 120v AC plug outlet beside each AP: she is sure that the architect has forgotten them. Should she be worried? Explain your answer. 4. The electrical contractor is also concerned that you will not have easy physical access to some of the APs, and she also knows you need to plug in to the console connection on them to adjust the power output, particularly when the room is divided with the partitions. Should she be concerned? Why or why not? 5.Explanation / Answer
1. I would prefer LAP configuration since LAP can be controlled through WLC. if we use Autonomous AP, we need to convert these to LAP to control them through WLC.
2. The VLANs won't create any problem. We can just allow these VLANs where the WLC is connected and create an interface for the VLAN.
3. Yes this plan does concern me. If high speed network is a must then installing one more AP in the office area should not be of any problem. Thos will give high speed access to the chefs so the they can access the recipies stored on the network as soon as possible and will also give the office users an access to high speed wireless networking.
