Power supply Light Figure 2.4 A series-parallel connection. 8. For each of the following situations state whether the light will be "ON" or "OFF a) xiasserted, x2 asserted, Xa asserted b) xasserted, x not-asserted, X not-asserted: Light is c) xi not-asserted, X2 asserted, Xa asserted d) xiasserted, x2 asserted, Xa not-asserted e) xi not-asserted, x2 not-asserted, xa not-asserted: Light is Light is Light is Light is Consider Figure PB.6: Figure PB.6 The PDN in a CMOS circuit. 9. For each of the following situations state whether the Voltage V, will be "5v or "Ov Vi is Vi is Vi is Ve is Vi is 3 of 3

Explanation / Answer

1.

All S are pass trasistor the signal travel from input to output when X is on or asserted.

a) X1 or X2 is asserted so output of pass transistor is on so signal passes to next node. When X3 is asserted so the output is 1 and Light is ON.

b) X3 is not asserted to the signal doesnot pass the Light so Light remains OFF

c) X2 is asserted so the input travel to another node then X3 is asserted so the input traves to output so Light is ON

d) Light remain off (because x3 is not asserted)

e) Light remain off(because x3 is not asserted)

2.

In figure Vx1 & Vx3 is in series parallel with X2. IF Vx1 & Vx3 both are one the output is grounded else it is 5v. If Vx2 is on then output is grounded. Else output is 5v.

a) Vf=0v(Vx2=Vx1=Vx3=5v)[All transistor is ON]

b) Vf =0v (Vx1=Vx3=5v)[Signal is grounded through the transistro X1 & X3]

c) Vf=5v Beacuse only Vx3 is on.

d) Vf=0v Because Vx2 is on and signal is grounded.

e) Vf=0v Because Vx2 is on and signal is grounded.
