Chapter 18-Motor Load, Torque, and Power Quality Requirements 231 Overload Protection. Use Data Sheet J on page 398 to complete the wiring diagram and line diagram. 2. Design a circuit using th e start/stop pushbutton station and a Model P relay to protect against an overload It uses a current transformer that detects in the power circuit. The relay can be used on 10 or 3 circuits. the amount of current in any wire that passes through the current transformer. It can be used with or in place of the standard overload heater found on magnetic motor starters. The exact setting of the relay, like the selection of overload heaters, must meet NEC® requirements. The maximum setpoint of the relay is normally 1.15 or 1.25 times the FLC, which is found on the nameplate of the motor. For exact require- ments, see Article 430 of the NEC. Connect the relay into the line diagram. Complete the power circuit wiring for all required relay pin connections using the line diagram. 2 L3 START

Explanation / Answer

I can't answer wire diagram without data sheet.

#But in line diagram option B is correct.

It has a N.C stop , N.O start pushbutton which after pressing will pass supply to motor. In parallel to start N.O of motor is used to latch the supply. N.C of overload and model P is used to pass supply to L2 and complete the circuit.

In model P relay 10 and 2 pins completes the supply circuit of relay . Hence correct.

#

In part A pin 1 and 2 of model P are used which don't complete circuit supply.

In part C ,N.O of model P is used in first row which don't let pass supply .

In part D, motor is directly connected.

Hence these are incorrect.
