Write the observations PART 2: Using both methods given in Figure 2 and Figure 3, find the ranges of voltmeter using PSpice I. Consider that the meter resistance R4-1.7 kf2 and FSD of 50 . 2. Construct the circuit as given in Figure 5 by changing the Rss values as under: a. Rss 99.5 K32 b. Rss= 999.5 k12 c. Rss- 1995.5 kn 3. Record the measurement for each experiment in the Table (3). Explanation / Answer

Observations: In switch multiplier resistor method, different resistor are connected parallel or at different voltage level, whenever test leads is connected to particular resistor output value changes, for example in table when test lead is connected to 99.5k ohm resistor then output volavolis 5v and when it is connected to 1999.5 k ohm then output voltage is 100v.

If we consider series connected multiplier resistor method then, in this method all resistor are connected in series therefore for different voltage level we takes series resistance. For example, when we take RSS= 99.5kohm resistor then it will give 5v output same as switch multiplier method, but if we want to measure higher value then we need more resistor be connected in series. Therefore for 99.5k+999.5k ohm resistor output voltage is 54.98 and when three resistor connected in series 99.5k+999.5k+1999.5k ohm resistor is 154.95v.

Conclusion: Two methods as tabulated in table 3, shows switch multiplier resistor method in which single resistor is used to measure voltage range and for every volatage range resistor is used. For series connected multiplier method resistor are used in series for higher voltage measurement from table 3, we can see that 99.5k ohm gives 5v output whereas 99.5k+999.5k+1999.5k ohm gives 154.95 v output.
