Question
I appreciate any help here. Please prvide brief explinaion . Thank you!
(1) A retentive timer has a time base of 0.1 seconds and a preset value of 200. The input to the timer is false and the accumulator indicates a value of 100. The input of the timer becomes true for five seconds and then goes false. What is the value in the accumulator?
(2) An off-delay timer does which of the following?
(3) The accumulated value in an up-counter instruction is currently 4. What will be the accumulator value after the following series of pulses is applied to the input of the counter?
(4) Which of the following statements are true? Select all that apply.
50Explanation / Answer
a)Option 4 is the correct answer.
The timer has base of 0.1sec, i.e, for every 0.1sec the timer value increases by 1.
The present value of the timer is 100 for the case of false input to the timer.
Now, we given logic 1 to the input of the timer for 5sec, and therefore the accumulator value increases for this 5sec as the timer run.
The current value of accumulator = 100 + ( 5sec / 0.1sec) = 100 + 50 =150
2)Option 1, starts counting as soon as the input becomes one is the correct answer.
3)Option 4 is the correct answer.
The accumulated value in the up-counter is 4 before apply the pulse. The up-counter value increases for the logic1 and remain constant for logic0.
After applying the pulse to the up-counter, since there are 5 logic1 s in the pulse, the up-counter value increases by 5.
Therefore, the final value in the up-counter is 9.
4) Option 3 is the correct answer.
As soon as the input I1 closed, this is connected to the motor and it runs.
Therefore, as soon as the switch I1 closed the motor runs is the correct answer.
