Question
1. If the sweep rate on an oscilloscope monitor was set at 0.2 sec/cm and the horizontal distance between the peaks of an ECG display was 4 cm, what heart rate in beats per minut would be indicated? 2. If the peak voltage for the ECG signal were 1 milivolt, a vertical setting of 0.25 mV/cm would give a display height of --- on the oscilloscope screan. 3. If the sweep rate on an oscilloscope monitor was set at 0.2 sec/cm and the heart rate of the person was 100 beats/min., what would be the horizontal distance between peaks of an ECG signal? 1. If the sweep rate on an oscilloscope monitor was set at 0.2 sec/cm and the heart rate of the person was 100 beats/min., what would be the horizontal distance between peaks of an ECG signal?Explanation / Answer
1) time between two peaks is 0.8sec(for 4 cm) which indicates time period, so the heart rate is f=1/0.8=1.25 per sec so it is 60*1.25=75 beats per minute
2)we have setting as 0.25 mV for 1 cm so for 1mV we will have a height of 4cm
3)for 100 beats per minute the per sec value is 100/60=1.66, so the time period is 1/1.66=0.6 sec approx which corresponds to nealy 3cm
