Cables connected to laptop and Lab Quest started to send data to the Logger Pro (As a graph). One student was clicked the started bottom, other one was inserted the magnet into and out the coil. The graph showed in Logger Pro and from it the value of into coil, out of coil given from the maximum and minimum point and voltage when the speed is slow and fast. The Third student was writing the data showed from the graph. This process continued for different 200, 400 and 800 number of coils. All data was written in table in term of number of coils, into coil, out of coil and the voltage speed of slow, fast and stop. Voltage induced/ motion of magnet

Explanation / Answer

Aim is to demonstrate Faraday's laws of Electromagnetic induction.

Observations : 1)When the magnet is into the coil,the voltage generated is negative and vice versa.

2)When the speed is more,the voltage induced is more.

Concludion: Here ,we have successfully demonstrated Faraday's laws of electromagnetic induction. When the magnet is into coil,the flux increases,i.e, the flux change is positive and the voltage induced is negative.This demonstrates Lenz's law also.A changing flux produces a voltage in a direction which tends to oppose this change of flux.

Morover,this voltage is also dependent on the rate of change of flux ,if the flux changes fast,more voltage is induced and vice versa.

Overall,v=-dphi/dt.

Sources of error:

1.Human error due to parallax while recording voltage.

2.Human error while recording speed.

3.Measurement of flux change may be incorrect.

4.voltage drop in the circuit.

5.Cable losses.
