Question
In the circuit on the right, a light bulb, two batteries, and five resistors are wired to form a circuit. For the following question, assume the color codes on resistors are not accurate (that is, use stated values) and assume each battery has 3.75 ? of internal resistance.
If the internal resistance of the light bulb is 327 ?, calculate the power dissipation of the bulb.
In the circuit on the right, a light bulb, two batteries, and five resistors are wired to form a circuit. For the following question, assume the color codes on resistors are not accurate (that is, use stated values) and assume each battery has 3.75 ? of internal resistance. If the internal resistance of the light bulb is 327 ?, calculate the power dissipation of the bulb.Explanation / Answer
we have to find the current trough the bulb...
so,
consider the loop in which bulb is connected...
let current is through it is i
applying KVL
1 = 135*i+327*i+3.75i ..
1 = 465.75*i
==> i = 1/465.75 = 0.0021471
so,
power dissipation of the bulb = I^2*R = 0.0021471^2*327 = 0.00151 watt
