Up Counter : In this, preset value indicate the desired count value and Accumulated value will get increment by one for every False to True state change at input of the counter.

When Accumulated value will becomes equal to the Preset value, then the Counter C2 DN bit will becomes high.

For every True state of I2 in the Rung 3 , the Reset coil will become high, that leads to Reset of counter C2. that is Accumulated value will becomes zero.

For every False to True state of I1 leads to Accumulated value will get increment once. So 5 times pressed IN1 leads to Accumulated value will reach to 5.

As Preset value = Accumulated value = 5, the Counter C2/DN will become True , that leads to pilot light O2 will become ON.
