Question
This is the data I have for my experiment, there might be some errors due to how I read the position on the scale, because my spring scale is too crappy.
Can somebody help me answer questions 2 in part II? "Determine the density of each fluid"
Salt water Milk Sprite Vegetable Oil object A 0.08N 0.1N 0.02N 0.05N object C 0.05N 0.05N 0.01N 0N object D 0.1N 0N 0.05N 0.02N Buoyant Force Lab We are going to use various types of liquids in order to determine how the buoyant force varies with the kind of liquid used. Materials Four different size objects (cubes and cylinders work best) Spring Scale Water Milk Salt Vegetable Oil Sprite (or your favorite soft drink) StringExplanation / Answer
The buoyant force exerted by the liquid =weight of the block or specimen in air -the weight in the fluid whose density u want to measure.
Now this buoyant force will be the product of the density of the fluid to be measured (pho), the volume of the fluid displaced by the block which is ultimately the volume of the fluid(V) and acceleration due to gravity(g).
Hence, u need to find the volume of the blocks now and hence u will get the density of each fluid
Density ×V×g=weight in air-weight in the fluid whose density is to be measured
