Question

I need help with #13-15. But if you happen to disagree with any of the other ones, could you please let me know? Thank you.

The graphs on this page represent the motion of objects along a line that is the positive position axis. Notice that the mobon of objects is represented by position, velocity. or acceleration graphs Answer the following questions. You may use a graph more than once or not at all, and there may be more correct choices than blanks. If none of the graphs is correct, answer J . 12 Pick one graph that gives enough information to indicate that the velocity is always negative. Pick three graphs that represent the motion of an object whose motion reversed direction or may have reversed direction 13 14 15 16. Pick one graph that definitely indicates an object has reversed direction. Pick three graphs that represent the motion of an object whose velocity is constant (not changing). 419 20. Pick one graph that might possibly be that of an object standing stll. Pick three graphs that represent the motion of objects whose açceleration is changing 22. Pick a velocity graph and an acceleration graph that could describe the mation of the same object during the time shown. R24. Velocity graph. 25. Acceleration graph. Tima Lab 3: Changing Motion 76

Explanation / Answer

THE ANSWERS FOR THE THE GIVEN QUESTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

For 12th question the answer is (a) as position Vs time gives velocity. The line is moving towards the negative direction at constant rate.

For 13th question the answer is (a) as the line crosses x-axis ,the object is changing direction.

For 14th question the answer is (c) as the velocity is moving towards negative from positive direction.

For 15th question the answer is (e) as the velocity is decelerating.

For 16th question the answer is (c) as velocity is constantly moving in the reverse direction.

For 17th,18th,19th questions the answers are (f), (h), (i) as the object is at rest and not moving since the slope is zero.

For 20th question the answer is (i) as the slope is zero, velocity is also zero and the object is at rest.

For 21st question the answer is (c) as the object is moving reversely in the velocity-time graph. Derivative of velocity with respect to time gives acceleration.

For the 22nd question the answer is (e) as the velocity is decelerating with respect to time.

For the 23rd question the answer is (g) as the line moves from positive to zero.

For the 24th question the answer is (f) as the object is at rest since the slope is zero, so the velocity is also zero in thepositive y-axis.

For the 25th question the answer is (h) as the object is at rest since the slope is zero, so acceleration is zero in the negative y-axis.
