Electric field mapping lab- Please answer question 8 part a and b 8) which electrode pattern has the least electric field magnitude? (a) where in that pattern was the electric field weakest ; e.g., was it weakest near an electrode or was it weakest somewhere in the middle? (b) compare the electrode pattern. Why do you think this pattern should have had the least electric field magnitude ? Explain briefly.Below is the pictures of electrode patterns.
This is calculus based physics please answer briefly. 8. Which electrode pattern had the least electric field magnitude? (a) Where in that pattern was the electric field weakest; e-g, was it weakest near an electode or was it weakest somewhere in the middle? (b) Compare the electrode patterns. Why do you think this pattern should have had the least electric field magnitude? Explain briefly
Explanation / Answer
a)the equipotential lines are least dense in Insulator conductor electrode type so this has the least electric field.
b)The density is least in the middle so electric field is least there.
c)The electric field is least because of the presence of the conductor as external field polarises the conductor which in turn produces its own electric field in the opposite direction of the external electric field.
