I’m having trouble understanding how they were able to determine the direction of the magnetic field at different points in the 10-20 s time interval. How do you construct the magnetic field vs. time graph and, from there, the current vs. time graph? (I understand that you get the current from taking d(flux)/dt and then dividing by R, but I’m mainly having trouble understanding how you get the direction of the magnetic field.)
Another thing — how is the number of turns in the solenoid 16 and not 15?
Explanation / Answer
Yes you can find out direction of the magnetic field by the right hand law.Let us consider for understanding a straight wire of length L in which current flow from bottom to top ,now we catc h the wire as our thump of right hand in the direction of current ,than our turned fingers represent the direction of magnetic field ,in our case direction of magnetic field is upwaed to the plane .
